When I think of wedding colors, I think of shades of pink, plummy purple, and elegant black and white. I would have never thought that emerald green would be the wedding color for 2013?! I have discovered that emerald green adds a beautiful touch to any wedding ceremony or reception. Couples are using emerald green since it complements any skin type and goes with hazel, brown, blue and green eyes. With many couples “going green” for their celebrations, why not choose an emerald green theme.
Here are some ideas on how to incorporate emerald green into your wedding:
~ Bathe the reception with green by having the bridesmaids dresses in this vibrant color. Adding matching shoes and accessories will add that extra special touch.
~ Add a sash to your wedding dress with some emerald green bling and tie it together with the groom’s bow tie to match.
~ Emerald green flowers will bright up any bouquet or even the groom’s boutonniere. Green foilage will make the “white” flowers pop!
~ Add a hint of green to your wedding cake with an emerald green scroll or chevron stripes, or how about a monogrammed cake-topper in emerald green jewels for couples who love bling!
~ Use table clothes and place settings and cloth napkins with a hint of emerald green. Layering them will add some color to the banquet room.
– Or, how about centerpieces with either emerald green candles, or bay leaves for a decorative and colorful touch.
– Wedding favors come in all shapes and sizes, but a personalized bottle label or candy bar wrapper from Favorite Announcements with an emerald green text and/or border will brighten up any reception table.
For a winter wedding, incorporate other deep tones, and for a lighter spring/summer event, pair it with crème or ivory. The color reminds many of us of the Wizard of Oz and by incorporating emerald green into your celebration we know you will feel the magic too.
